Great results for the BWY 80cm show jumping competitors.

The long trip down to Port Royal was made worthwhile by the amazing results achieved by our grassroots show jumpers, with the team of Madison Chapman, (5th individual),  Maisy Wilson, (7th individual),  Connie Pride and Imogen Lockwood (6th individual) sweeping all before them and claiming victory with 8 outstanding clear rounds.   What is more they never looked like knocking a pole down and all rode with style and determination.  And then to top it all, Olivia Stavely and Amy Bell  both rode fast double clears with some amazing turns for their big horses to take 1st and 2nd place with the eventual victory going to Olivia. The strength of the BWY at this level can be shown as the final three qualifying places were also taken by BWY members with Francesca Abrahams, Johny O’Keeffe and Caitlin Labonte booking their places for the championships at Elland Lodge (Derbyshire) on August 26th.

I am very proud of them all and must give many thanks to all the parents, especially to those whose children weren’t placed but supported the other team members  with genuine enthusiasm. They all  made a real effort to get there and put up with a long and very hot day (a real team effort) and we all look forward to seeing our members compete at the championships.

Next week is the novice (90cm) show jumping qualifier at Bishop Burton where we will be represented by Kate Sanderson, Emily Worsdale, Venitia Thompson, Isabella Jones, Charlie Donaldson, Hattie Warne, Posie Abrahams and Jodie Bentley.  Lets hope for more success.

Yours, a very happy   Robert.
